Camp Rodney and the Elk Neck Adventure by Magnus P.
When we arrived at the cabin in Camp Rodney, we got everything unpacked, and claimed which beds would be ours. We also rearranged the bunks for fireplace reasons. After that most of us played a game of cabin hockey while others attended the fireplace to chat a little. After we did that for a while, we all went to bed, because tomorrow would be the two mile hike, and the eight mile hike. When we arrived at the parking lot of the two mile hike, which was in Elk Neck State Park, we saw a doe, and watched it. While we were hiking, we were walking along some nice scenery. I saw a small rock that was like a very smooth arrow head. We saw a little shore that had big ice chunks on it. Then we got to the lighthouse, and the view there was awesome. We saw a passing by ship, and we were very high up. We were as high as 100 feet! The two mile hikers stayed at the light house and played football on that cliff, but the eight mile hikers went to finish their hike. We passed the shore of ice chunks and Will picked up one that was like a giant spike, until he shattered it by smashing it on the ground. And then we all got into vehicles that were going to the eight mile hike, which was in another part of Elk Neck State Park. While we were hiking, we saw even more amazing scenery. We even saw a bald eagle. We got to the top of a small mountain, and we were even higher up than what we were at the lighthouse! We hiked down the mountain over some really muddy spots, and small streams. We came across a pavilion where we all ate our lunches. And when we were done, we started on our merry way again. While we were hiking, we missed a turn causing the distance to be longer. And in all, the eight mile hikers really hiked 9.6 miles. When we got back to the cabin, we started resting by either playing Magic cards or Pokémon cards, or just chatting by the fire, until it was time to go to sleep. So the next morning, we got everything packed and rearranged the bunks to their original positions, and then started heading home.
